ON THE LEAN SIDE
Oh yes, it’s on most people’s mind and most of us think about it but we don’t do much about it. My husband and I are trying to do it.
What trips most people up is we don’t know where to start, we’re busy with our family and when we get home from work, we’re starving. Start out by taking baby steps and gradually wean your family off high fat items like real mayonnaise. I have discovered Olive Oil Mayonnaise. Regular Mayonnaise is 14 grams of fat and 90 calories for 1 tablespoon. Olive Oil Mayonnaise is 4 grams of fat and 45 calories. I am totally sold on the taste and for most people that’s the kicker- the taste. The heart healthy benefits for olive oil are a big plus. Try it. Don’t tell them. They may not even notice the change.
Fresh Asparagus is in season now (and affordable). Steam it or brush it with a little olive oil and grill. Yummy and healthy!!
